Side and rear yard fences and walls can be up to 8 feet in height.

When You Need a Permit
Any fence in the front yard requires a permit from the Planning Division, regardless of height. Fences up to 7 feet elsewhere generally don't need one.

Visibility Requirements
Front yard fence sections over 18 inches tall must allow visibility through the fence — vertical members no wider than 4 inches, spaced no more than 4 inches apart.
